I am interested in what folks think their best blue is for application, =
covering, attractiveness, selling, fit, for a buff Cone 6 clay.
Please include recipe.

Randy,
Have you considered testing your own glaze with combinations of cobalt
carbonate, cobalt oxide, iron oxides? Maybe some rutile? Only you can
tell if it will fit your claybody or not. Oxidation or reduction? As
far as what is attractive or not,it is in the eyes of the beholder, you
and your clients. If it doesn't sell than test other combinations till
you find one that sells. Keep good records of what oxides you test and
use various application thicknesses, record your firing schedules as
well.. Test, test, test.Good luck, Mike Gordon

Thanks,,,,,,,,,,,,I will try it.
Floating Blue is my favorite.
Noxema Blue has it uses, but is somewhat bright.
Also Opal Blue is a good blue but leaves some transparent places due to =
the fact I like to brush on glazes.
