Someone suggested taking the bull by the horns, and treating yourself by excision, when dealing with brown recluse bites. I would NEVER advocate taking an exacto blade to your own bite . You are setting yourself up for infection and serious complications. If you think you've been bitten....get to a doctor! Mary K. (former ER nurse)

She was later readmitted a few days later with complications and died. Brown recluse spiders (or other poisonous spiders) are nothing to mess around with IMHO. If you got bitten and took care of it yourself, you had a guardian angel looking over your shoulder!!
