ivor's lucid comments on itc/craig's comment

Craig,

I was flabergasted that someone would suggest that
a 27 year old no name in the field of ceramics would
try, or have the power to "exploit" anything here. I
was shocked that someone would assume my
innocent question would have any kind of negative
implication for ITC, or anything else for that matter.

Perhaps I misunderstood the nature of Ivor's use
of the word "exploit" however, which occurred to me after I sent the
message. If that was the case than I would certainly appologize for
my message, of course. You are correct in your statement that
his message was packed with useful information and I respect
the amount of knowledge I have seen come from him.

As far as what would behoove me to listen to however, I would prefer
you keep personal advice to me to yourself unless I ask you for it. Please
don't comment on how thick someone's skin is unless you know
who they are.

Andrew,

Unfortunately anything you say, or imply through question, about ITC
unless positive will generate much negative comment. This is the second
time in eight years or so that I can remember questioning the energy
saving potential of ITC and the claims made about it. It is also the
second time the moderator has stepped harshly after the fact. People
seem to think that what I say about ITC is some sort of categoric
denial of any positive attributes of the product. The letters are
rolling in about how wonderful the inventor of ITC is. Did I mention
him? I have no doubt that he is generous, does not need our business,
etc, etc. He is not the person making huge claims of energy saved.

Right now this forum sounds more like an AM talk show on home
improvement designed to sell product than a reasoned forum for
discussion. It is clear you can expect a firestorm, particularly from
the moderator if you say anything negative about ITC. In this
atmosphere even simple statements or questions will be misinterpreted.
