leap of faith, i may barf

Well, I did it. I have never been out of the country (or much of =
anywhere IN the country for that matter) before, but I just went to =
Priceline and booked my flight to Belize. I think I may barf.

As of right now, I'm going by myself to the land of Malaria, No =
Electricity, No Email (sob!), No Running Water, and No CPAP Machine =
(yikes!). We had hoped to raise enough money through donations and =
sales for another potter friend (Leanne Pizio) to go with me, but we've =
barely got enough for just me to go. Thankfully, Billie Mitchell will =
be there at the same time, so there'll be at least one other person who =
speaks English. ;) I just went to Target and bought some of those =
vacuum-seal clothes bags for packing efficiency, and I got a pretty =
large Pullman suitcase on freecycle. Can you take RAID on an airplane?

DONATIONS ARE STILL BEING ACCEPTED, and will be until I get on the plane =
January 4 at 8:10am ET. Also, part of the $ from calendar sales will go =
toward the trip too. Part of our problem raising money was that I'm not =
a non-profit (at least not by 501c3 standards...). Had several folks =
say, "If they were a nonprofit, we could donate", but we're not, so they =
din't. :( BIG UPS to those who did, and thanks much.

In case you're wondering WHAT the heck I'm talking about, where I'm =
going, and why, check out the article that Roger Korn wrote about =
Billie's trip to Belize last year. It's in the most recent Clay Times =
magazine. You can also go here to check it out:
