But from what you describe, I am wondering if this
area is where the pot was trimmed? Often on traditional shino and wood
ash pots, you will see crawling or pinholing on the pot, only where the
pot was trimmed.
Speaking of Shinos, the Ken Matsuzaki workshop is going
on right now. I went to dinner with them at George Gunie's. Was
good cooking, combination of Japanese and Soul food. The highlight
was George playing guitar and singing the Blues. I was happy to
find out that several people (at least three) attended the workshop
because they saw my posting about it on the web.
