cornwall stone glazes

I found several glaze recipes calling for Cornish Stone in Emmanuel Cooper's
"The Potter's Book of Glaze Recipes." This one is out of print, I believe.

You might also look for such recipes in archives or books written by Carlton
Ball, Karl Martz and other early potters. Many of my research books are
packed away so I cannot pull the source at the present time. I would also
think that old issues of the Ceramic magazine published in England might
refer to this feldspar. Daniel Rhodes mentions it once in a quick search of
his early book published June 74 Stoneware and Porcelain, The Art of High
Fired Pottery.

When I was trying to find a substitute for Cornwall Stone, it was before I
worked with a computer. So I just tried Kona F4, Neph Sy, and other
feldspars 1.1 until I found one that looked good and fit my clay. Altering
a glaze by using the basic formulae boggles my mind although I see the
principal of it.

I find searching half the fun. One learns so much on the way to a goal.
