So well said, Katheleen ....... I wanted to say it but minimal
validity as a potter and only a sixteenth share as a Cherokee
doesn't bode well for acceptance of my opinions about such.
I'm not that concerned as to "acceptance" from others in
this instance as I am about my own feelings of not having
crawled the crawl..... much less walked the walk.

Take this for what it's worth from one who thought (briefly
but it did cross my mind!) that because your name is Nez=20
that you must be a Nez Perce.

How is it that I can be so judgmental of others when there's
so much to be examined in myself?? Maybe because I have
to live with me... you think?

Joyce
In the Mojave where Silvia and her growing crew just arrived
to help clean my house ..... good sign..... means I'm in the
studio most of the time now..... she brought Frank with her
.... her brother and formerly my student also...... taught both of
them their first English ...... seventh grade... fast learners.....
smart as the
dickens..... tested Frank with the old Lighter test.... non verbal
testing...... he tested "off the charts"...... I can see him now
flying fingers moving blocks creatively faster than I could, for
sure. AND he'd never seen such a "game" ..... wanted to play
some more...... so quick...... what a privilege to witness.....
loved him then; love him now .... though the intervening 30
years have removed the innocence (from both of us).... he is
still quick, handsome, watchful, proud ... sensitivity toward
others displayed as he translates my directions to the newly
arrived "cousins" who are also working today... laughs at Mojo's
fearsome antics...... my feelings are mixed at the moment....
I'm sure yours are, too........

Joyce, What is a "lighter test"?

Curious,
