For many years I have wanted to write an article about "Professional
Jealousy" What stops me is that i experience it from time to time. I don't
have the studio someone else does, i am not married to a billionaire or even
a hairdresser for that matter, I don't have a huge pension, I don't have an
MFA blah, blah, blah.
If someone does good work that effects you- tell them. suck in your pride
and say hey you Mr.Potter/high school teacher you're doing good work and it
is a service to the working stiff. Well Mel, I guess you know who this is
directed to. We both fired the same day, unloaded the same day and you're
reloading and I'm not. You're 70 and I'm not. Good on you. I'm firing later
this week and i have some bigware that i'm doing what else the 8 hour Hank
Stall. What you're not going to like is I need some pots for a grant
application!!!! I'm going to do a seperate firing for my bride's white shino
with brushwork. A potter needs their own kiln alright. Now look what ya got
me into for ----'s sake. I need another Geil.
This post is dedicated to people that work.
Cheers,
Tony

I came home tonight really late and I'm tired after loading some kilns
and trying to get some Raku pots made to fire by Friday with the young
Indiana State Grad. Students and I read your post and I felt better.
Maybe it does make a difference,
Thanks Tony,
Chuck
