Dear clayarters, Please bear with me; I am asking more questions lately
than I am adding value to the forum. Mel, you gave detailed info before
on how to wash an electric kiln before spraying it with ITC. I assume
that is to get rid of any loose dust, right?
If that is true, then I assume one have to wash out a brand new electric
kiln also (a little scary thought), right? Does ITC fuse into the items
that is get sprayed on or does it make a hard layer? What would happen
if one has to replace an element? Will you have to break(or cut) the
elements away from the bricks or will it be easy to remove? What is the
differences in ITC 100 HT, ITC 213, ITC 296A.
If anyone has any close up pictures of an electric ITC sprayed kiln,
will you please send it to me?
Some of you will recall that I am in the process of buying new kilns. I
finally decided to convert an old electric kiln into a small gas kiln,
to give me an intro with gas, so I will soon be experimenting with that.
I also ordered a 10cub ft. ^10 electric from Bailey. They do not seem to
be very pro-ITC, so I have to make a very careful decision now on
weather I will coat the new kiln with ITC. Any detailed information will
be highly appreciated.
Thanks.
