use of glass fibers in ceramics

Ok Gang, if all else fails (*read) the instructions manual. I reviewed the
article again and on that comes from Master Potter *Cushings Handbook pg
19. The product in question is simply just Commercial grade Roofing fiber.
...closely woven to 18 threads per inch. I think the roll I found here is
about 12 threads per inch but might work just as well for the strengthening
of clay joints. Of course usual clay practices and skills for joining clay
splices is still needed and necessary but the fiber is an idea I am going
to try out for a larger sculptural project where more tensile strength in
the dry clay body is required and before going to the kiln. Thank you Val
over and over again for your huge Ceramic contribution which really goes
far beyond the Handbook.
