I was mostly thinking that it took some kind of cosmic reordering of the
planets to produce that eclipse, but a larger cosmic reordering of the
planets to enable the Red Sox to sweep the World Series. I KNOW I'm not the
only one.
Paul Lewing, Seattle, where the eclipse was at its most dramatic right about
the end of the game. We had a spectacular view from my front porch.

How many others out there were watching the lunar eclipse last night and thinking dry carbon trap shino? I KNOW I'm not the only one.

That's funny, I was standing around with a bunch of potters looking at
the eclipse last night when it was total and not one of them said
anything about the shino!
I'm surprised!
They did say "sort of a terracotta", though.

Hi ya,

Didn't know it was happening until I saw it. I was reminded of a bushfire
sun. Now if I could make such a glaze that would be cool.
