The 147 members of the San Antonio Potters Guild conducted our fifth annual
Empty Bowls Event yesterday raising over $20 thousand dollars benefiting the
San Antonio Metropolitan Ministries Food Program. Our spectacular silent
auction with donations from many well-known local artists and craftsperson's
raised nearly $2400 alone. We couldn't have had a more beautiful fall day on
the lovely grounds at the Southwest School of Art and Craft with hundreds of
patrons purchasing hundreds of our bowls and enjoying the donated soup from
more than a dozen local restaurants. Our members and their families arrived
at 8 AM., set the whole thing up, sold, served, cleaned up and were gone by
3:30 PM. We would like to thank all of our dedicated members, generous
patrons and our wonderful donors to the Empty Bowls Event for making this
year an outstanding success!
