Hello,=20
I've been testing the glazes from MC6G's and it's been a lot of fun... =
things have been working out reasonably well with some adjustments =
needed, which is normal. However, I took a load out yesterday of mugs =
and pates dipped in the Licorice glaze with a top dip of Waterfall =
Brown. They are gorgeous but sad to say in some areas on the ware the =
glaze has sort of pulled back to reveal the raw ware, leaving sort of a =
dirty white appearance. This only happens where it's been top dipped... =
and the pulled back places are not very big..... it was very =
disappointing--any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
I had one bowl where I dipped it in the licorice and then sprayed the =
waterfall on and that one turned out fine, although it's not as =
attractive as the other ones that had a thicker top dip.=20
Note: the ware was bisque fired to ^06, wiped well, etc. I glazes fired =
to ^6 in my computerized Skutt kiln... Medium speed with a 5 minute hold =
at the end. No controlled cooling as I haven't learned how to do that =
yet :) ......=20
Thanks for any help,
