My left wrist--not my dominant hand--has started bothering me again. I still have the brace made for me before carpal tunnel surgery. Have been wearing it at night and am hoping I can avoid another trip to the rheumatologist etc. The discomfort wants to follow a tendon so it can be more tendonitis. On a happy note, I can rest the area because I am going to visit my youngest son for a week. Wonderful Thanksgiving!
Over these years, I have continually have had to improvise glazing methods. I have lined laundry baskets with plastic and poured the glaze in. Using a pair of tongs in each hand, I can start a piece thru, use the other tongs to pull it out. I have also used one of the plastic troughs for wetting wallpaper and are perfect for some longer and narrow pieces. I have used a narrow waste basket for dipping a platter and realize I need to use two tongs there, too. Seems I always learn the hard way by doing the glazing in another way that makes it too thick or overlapped or whatever. If I think it won't be right, I wash the glaze off, dry the pot and start over. I guess this is called being a patient potter. (:>)
