I was wondering if someone knew of a good book that had a lot in it about
decorating with slip and making slip for decoration. While I'm at it... I
was talking with a friend of mine and she's curious if there is a book that
is dedicated on spraying glazes.
Thank you,
Crystal

Dear Crystal,
Look for; John Pollex, "Slipware", Watson Guptill. US ISBN
8230-4857-8.
Well worth consulting. Covers just about all there is to be said in a
"Thin " book.
Best regards,
Ivor Lewis.

Crystal, one great book is "The Potter's Guide to Ceramic Surfaces" by
Jo Connell. It is not just about slip or applying glazes but does
include some wonderful info on slip applications, including slip
trailing, slip feathering, slip marbling, inlaying slips, banding,
combing, sgrafitto, mocha techniques, and more. It also has info on
applying glazes (by dipping, spraying, pouring, brushing), as well as
numerous other surface design techniques (textures, screen printing,
using underglazes, lustres, wax resists, making agateware, etc.). It is
beautifully illustrated also. I highly recommend it!
