digital photos to tv

Hi all,

I am having some house guests soon. I'd like to show them images of my
ceramics work. I have digital photos of my work. I have a slide projector. I
have searched the archives and found several service groups that will
manufacture slides from my digital photos--one for $3.00/slide, which seems very
reasonable to me. But before I do that--does anyone know if its possible to show
digital slides on a TV screen??? I have a Mac Powerbook with a disc burner.
I also have a DVD player attached to my TV. I have tried using iMovies
and iPhotos to save images to a DVD, but my VT/DVD player are not reading them.

Any suggestions how I can make this work?

Best regards,

Brad Carter

Can you hook up your camera directly to the television? Most of the
digital cameras I have seen can take a cord with an RCA jack on the end for
sending the contents of the screen to a video device.

Hi Brad,
My hubby works for Apple. He explains it..... If you have a powerbook, (not
ibook) just get the right cables and hook the computer to your tv directly,
bypass the DVD.. You can play iphoto slideshows easily. The cables you need
depend on the TV and what computer you have.
Have fun.

Brad,
Why don't you just buy the cable that allows you to hook up your
powerbook to your tv like you would a VCR. Then you can show your
digital images as a slide show from iPhoto. You can even set it to
music, adjust the pause time on each slide and have it run on replay. I
think you can also set it to manually advance from one slide to the next
if you'd rather do it that way.

You can use a video adaptor cable and a special cable for the TV. The
adaptor should have come with your Mac. and the red/black video cable
is standard issue.

Brad,

Both of my digital cameras (canon and sony) have a plug that
uses a cable to connect to the T.V. Do you have a video out plug on
your camera? I have thought about making videos of my still images
for a friends back home who don't have computers with a CD player.
