Here's a story for Mel and everyone else that reads Mel's wisdom. He
has been writing about selling pots from his home.
I had a very vivid dream a few days ago. I was talking to a very nice
lady in my studio, explaining how I could not take my work on the art/craft
show circuit any more. (The reasons are many, too long to explain here.)
She seemed concerned and told me she might have a solution to increase my
sales.
A week later she called to ask if she could organize a studio sale at
my home based ceramic studio. I believe my responce was something
like, "Knock yourself out", figuring she was just being nice and trying to
make me feel better about not going to shows any more. She knew I very much
loved "hawking my stuff" to anyone who will listen. Heck by the second day
of a show the artists on each side of me are mouthing the words of my speil
while I am talking to potential customers.
Back to my dream.. A couple of weeks later I am returning home from a
long day of doctor appointments and shopping. The street in front of my
house is full of parked cars. When I get inside my house I hear the sound
of voices coming from my studio. I rush out there to find a dozen people
rumaging through my stock shelves. They all seemed to be helping each
other find the perfect "treasure" as one woman explained to me. I went out
the side door of the studio to find the "very nice lady" I had met before
sitting at a small table. There was a line of "customers" quietly waiting
for her to look up prices and collect their money. Every one was in such a
festive mood. The "very nice lady" looked up at me and winked and smiled.
I just leaned against a palm tree and took it all in. Then I woke up from
this dream. I quickly wrote down what I could remember of the dream.
Mel, what does this dream mean? Has my reading Clay Art become part
of my inner being or something? I have read some of our posts that would
scare me to death I they showed up in my dreams.
Just had to share this with you all. I hope you might understand this
as something that normally happens. My wife thinks I am going off the deep
end.

Hey William,
What's this lady's name? Is she busy next weekend?

Logan,
You asked what the lady's name was in my dream. I don't know. Funny
thing about dreams, not all of the facts are always available. My take on
this is that I need to be keeping my eyes open for some kind of golden
opportunity to appear. You never know, it might be you if you were to ever
come across the state for a visit. If I do find her, I will be more than
happy to share her talents with the Clay Art group.

Hey William!
I've been called a lot of things ;0) but this is the first time I've been in the same sentence
as the words "golden opportunity" even when it's attached to a "might be".
Do you ever have a week day ( or some time on a week day) off? I know this is a rough time of the year to ask about but Dennis (The hubby) is starting work in Washington St. in Jan. & since I don't drive that's the only way I can come for a visit. Dennis was in Washington the last time you invited us getting the car we had to put in storeage before we moved here. that's why I couldn't make it over there the last time. We we're thinking about getting a cheap room & staying over night there that way we can bring the dog . We can leave her in the room ( she doesn't really like other dogs) while we visit & I wont have to worry if the roomates will be able to get her to "go out" . Sometimes she wont eat or "go" if we're not with her. We can't come out on the weekends because we're always at the only place for me to sell my work & the space is already paid for . At this point we can't afford to blow off one of thoes days. So I'll understand if you have the same situation going on
with you. MAN DO I NEED A TWO DAY BREAK!!!!! I haven't had one since we moved here with the exception of post hurricane power outages! Speaking of which I better get off the 'puter so I can trim a butt load of stuff ! let me know if you have some time & I'll make room reservations. Talk to you later!!!
