Please...let's not start comparing kilns with household appliances.
It's not even in the same ballpark....not even close.
My hackles are up...can't help it.
The point is, about once a week we're getting posts about burnt up,
meltdown, overfired, underfired whatnot and as much as everyone really
can sympathize ...it's just getting old. We all need to help those who
are just jumping in..I've been there and I understand. Some of the best
advice I ever received...
Use witness cones, be available to check them, period.

I agree, let's not start comparing kilns with household appliances, BUT
since the original RANT did it seemed like I wasn't crossing into
sacred ground. Personally I don't think of a furnace or water heater so
much of as an appliance like an stove OR dishwasher, but in a broad
definition they are appliances, just as a kiln might be.

Umm... hate to argue with you Heidi, but I think a kiln is the best dish
washer possibly built. Unless you be having plastic plates about!
sorry, couldn't resist. :)
