If you want to learn to describe your pots or your glazes ya ought to take =
a
page out of the winery vocabulary. This is a paragraph sent to me from my
favourite Niagara Winery- Malivoire . Certified organic if KT is reading. I
am a special customer and therefore am privledged to be able to buy up to 6
bottles of this wine and no more. What a priviledge!
Check out the lingo in this paragraph- Put together a pile of horseshit lik=
e
this for your next kiln load and you will have a runaway success. Perceptio=
n
is half the battle/bottle.
"These grapes were harvested from the Winery=B9s estate vineyard in Beamsvill=
e
on September 27, 2004. The wine was cool fermented to dryness and then
settled, racked, filtered and bottled as young as possible. The resulting
wine is linear, tight, crisp and fresh with a slightly lemony aroma and
hints of Granny Smith apple and banana. Flinty, =B3wet stone=B2 character on th=
e
nose follows through on the palate. In order to capture this wine=B9s extreme
youthfulness, it was minimally processed and will likely throw harmless
tartrate crystals (wine diamonds) when chilled.=A0 Like other =B3primeur=B2
styles, this wine is meant to be enjoyed while it is still young."
If you're wondering yes i will buy the wine. It's my studio tour this
weekend and this winery suppots me and my pots big time. I believe in
scratching the backs of those that scratch yours.
They are providing us with a lovely wine vingerette and baguettes. The
pieces of bread are dipped into the vingerette and are very tasty.
I do live in The Promised Land.
Cheers,
Tony

If you want to see a great film with some real humorous moments tossed in=20
surrounding wines, wine aficionados, and wine vocabulary (though this is onl=
y=20
secondary to the story of the movie)... go see the recent film called "Sidew=
ays".=20
I don't know if it is in theaters up in your neck of the woods, but it is=20
showing currently in theaters here in the states. It began as a limited rele=
ase,=20
but is now out in all the theaters. The recent buzz in Hollywood says that i=
t=20
may even garner a nomination for the Oscars.
In a nutshell, without giving too much away... it's a story about two old=20
college friends who get together for a week of fun before one of them get=20
married. The one who is not getting married is a wine enthusiast, and they g=
o off to=20
Napa for a week of golf, and wine tasting. Lots of humor, with great=20
characters. Needless to say, it becomes quite an interesting week and all ki=
nds of=20
things happen. It was an enjoyable film to watch, and as a novice wine enthu=
siast=20
myself... was interesting as well. Check it out.
Couldn't help but think of this film when I read your post. :-)
All the best,

as=20
best I could... since I was doing the work AND trying to photograph the=20
process... but hopefully, they will come out well enough to use down the roa=
