Barry,
Using one of our most popular glazes it turned
out that 1000 grams of dry mix produce 6.25 cups
of usable glaze. I use this ratio for most every-
thing that I need when adjusting a ready mixed
glaze. I find that it is close enough for all
practical purposes. --Reg Wearley

Help... How do I add and to what amount do I add oxides to an already =

be added to the dry mix, what amount is added to a wet mix?

Barry,
Take 1 percent of the total, dry weight in grams or pounds, whichever,
of the oxide and add a little water. Mix it up good, add some of the
wet base glaze, and stir some more, then pour it all in with the base
glaze and run it all through a strainer or seive several times. Mike

Dear Barry,
If you haven't used up too much of the glaze, you just need to add 1% of the
dry weight. In other words, measure it up the same as you would have done,
had you done it while the glaze was dry. There's really no other reasonable
way to add the oxides after mixing the glaze. You could guess, of course,
and I have been known to do that, but it makes it hard to repeat results. Do
make a note of whatever you add.
Merry Christmas,
Cindy in SD
