Hiya,
I have fired 5 tests, 1280*
4 with potash feldspar, then I ran out and subbed soda feldspar for the =
last one.
I did'nt think it would make much difference=20
They are all on white st thomas' body with a heavy red'n. Lots of iron =
has pulled through as one would expect.
4 are in a range from putty to light celadon (nice) some satiny, some =
really shiny.
and the soda one is white, suggary, and pink where it is really thick.
There is a huge difference in the glazes
What's the difference between the two feldspars, anyone know?
50/50 reed ash and keuper red clay is really nice,=20
and cheap.
About the hvar ball clay question, i have never found out what hvar =
stands for anyway. High viscosity something or other?
anyone enlighten me?

Hi Pat,

The main difference between potash spar (Custer and G200) and the soda
spars (F4, C6 and NC4) is - the potash spars have about 2% more KNaO.
