results/firing gold-leafed earthenware platter

Yesterday I fired one of the platters to 1900F, oxidation. The sticker on
the bottom said it had gold leaf on it. I put stripes of different glazes
on top: the low-fire clear turned a blah green/khaki; the blue and aqua were
both too thin, so didn't get glossy. For fun, I dropped various beads on
the surface...white ones, red ones, and small multicolored ones. They all
melted into large spots, and most of the color disappeared---too hot, I'm
sure. The most interesting look was on the bottom of the plate- no glaze-
where the gold burned off, there remained sort of a random pattern of
shapes, darker than the terra cotta.
