Vince's requirement for his handbuilding workshop I took last summer in
Mendocino strongly urged us to get a heavy duty rolling pin with ball
bearing works. There are a couple of kitchen supply stores nearby and I got
a beaut. The weight and the ball bearings make such a difference.

What a difference rolling out slabs! I brought it to school and everyone
there loved it so much that the school ordered one and several students got
one too. Cost: about $30. Guy even gave me a discount when he learned
about the school.

Bottom line: if you live near a big city, try a kitchen supply store.
Search Yahoo yellow pages.

Just to keep our local pottery suppliers around, many of them also carry large rolling pins with ball bearings. Happy shopping, Kelley
