Behr makes a nice series of water-based concrete and
masonry sealers. I used one that was silicone based
and I was quite satisfied with it -- it went on with a
pour-and-mop application, dried reasonably quickly,
and reputedly helps reduce efflourescence. It is NOT
recommended for application to a surface subject to
hydrostatic pressure. I was very satisfied with my
results.

Usual recommendations regarding good ventilation
apply.

Steve Slatin -- A pig is a jolly companion -- Boar, sow, barrow, or gilt. A pig is a pal, who'll keep your morale, though mountains may
topple and tilt. When they've baffled, bamboozled, and burned you -- When they've turned on you, Tory and Whig -- you may be thrown over By Tabby or Rover, but you'll never go wrong with a pig!

Hi
I'm new to the list and have enjoyed reading the archives. I'm fairly new
to pottery as well. Three years ago my husband bought me a gift certificate
for pottery lessons. I have continued potting ever since. We are now in the
process of building a small studio in the backyard. The floor is concrete
and my husband would like information on what best to seal the floor
with.Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

This subject was covered recently, so it would be worth your time to check
the archives. I've had a concrete floor for the last fifteen years or so
that I painted once every year or two with house paint. Last year I tiled
it and I am very happy with it.

Thanks for the replys.
I have gone over the archives and have found a lot of information on floor
sealents.
I'm presently working out of my son's old bedroom. He plans to move home
again in Feb. I hope my studio is ready by then. I'm so excited to have my
own space. The thread on dream studio has been very interesting as well.
It is such a BIG learning curve to set up one's own studio. Next step for
me will be tackling the kiln.

Thanks from a beguinner potter
