This is a preliminary notice to let you know that I am planning a selling
exhibition of the work of Shoji Hamada here in the lower showroom at
Marston Pottery.
The exact dates are yet to be decided but will almost certainly be
in the autumn of 2005. This will be the first selling exhibition of
Hamada's work in
the UK for almost fifty years. I hope to have around 25~30 pieces that
will both reflect the genius of his work and provide a range of very
realistic prices. In addition there will also be a few pieces by Living
National Treasure Tatsuzo Shimaoka and Hamada Shinsaku..
