new years firing/burnout

updated fri 31 dec 04

one way to avoid burnout is to make pots for
you.

i am having my 15th annual new years day firing.
just for me.

i have a full set of kitchen dishes loaded, with
all the support pots, soup bowls, serving pieces.
just for me. 76 pieces.

i am using the chinese/jiang/red temmoku with
black oil spot.
just for me. my mj stamp on each one.

it is a good way to create a positive mental
feeling about my work.

if it is a lousy firing....i will throw them all
into the swamp for future persons to find.
and, they will have a good laugh.

Mel -

What is a "red" temoku? I always thought of temoku as dark brown/near
black.

Yes indeed. Mel -

What is a "red" temoku? I'm very interested. Is there a recipe to which I
might have access?

Thanks, and Happy New Year. Buon Anno!
