Cat is right, you have to give the wax time to dry or the glaze will
stick to it. When you hurry the process the results are not as good.
I usually wax one day and glaze the next.

Cat, what is Mobile wax? Is it for furniture, floors, or cars? Where
do you get it? And what is the "other kind" that you have no use for?

High Water Clay carries both kinds.. I do not know what the other kind is
but remember when Mary Kay worked there as the store manager I believe she
is the one that started the carrying of the other brand as she had a use for
it... Many potters unknowingly bought it and did not get the same results
unhappily. It was sooo long ago and I think it caused a minor stink that it
wasn't clearly marked..
I think they must get the wax in a huge can and package it themselves..
I am guessing here as now they mark the MOBILE wax MOBILE with a
sharpie... The other stuff is unmarked.. ps they are both white and packaged in
clear plastic jugs ..

Email or visit _www.highwaterclays_ (http://www.highwaterclays) and or
call them they are located in Asheville NC 828 is the area code.. they have
ads in most of the clay mags CM for sure... they maybe could tell you what
the off brand is... Mobile is the brand name of the liquid wax resist
that works best for what I do and I am a functional potter using cone 10
white stoneware clay body. Kitchen and dinner ware with pizzazz...

Hope this helps Lou in Colorado Cat Jarosz

Mobil (the big petroleum company) makes
petroleum-based waxes, including paraffin.
