Hi Everyone;

Greetings from Rhode Island where it is cold, damp, dark and vaguely snowy.
Makes one think longingly of fire! And that invokes Raku Rhody-o.

We are about to begin the process of selecting our Visiting Artist for
2005. Past artists have been Randy Brodnax, Warren Andrade, Ramon
Camarillo, Steve Branfman, Justin Novak, Jim Lawton, Pamela Earnshaw ,
Thomas Ladd, Alison Newsome & Rick Hirsch -- a goodly company. All would
tell you they had fun and that we put on a good show!

Raku Rhody-o will take place October 7 - 9 here in Providence. It consists
both of an artists' workshop, 45 - 50 participants and a public FireArts
Festival, including a day of school children on site. We pay as well as we
can being a 501c3 non profit.

If you are interested in applying to be the 2005 Raku Rhody-o Visiting
Artist please send or email me a resume, slides or digital pictures of your
work and a little blurb about what you like best to do for workshops. Our
selection criteria involve quality of work, quality of workshops given,
evident desire to have fun, and a certain je ne sais quoi...

Kate,
did you ever select the 2005 artists? Leaving Honolulu in 30 days at
the end of the semester. My Raku horse plaques are pretty popular. I
was one of four presenters at the Raku Masters in North Carolina with
Steve Branfman and Linda and Charlie Riggs.
