Thanks Steve,
Yes, yesterday and today I finished ordering the parts to build myself a =
Brent Model C. I didn't order the table, made my own today out of a nice =
piece of oak and will begin to cover it with polyurethane tonight for =
waterproof needs. That saves me $300 !!!
I think I got caught up in the romance of building something that has =
been built from these old plans since when... the 1920's. Maybe twenty =
years ago I would have built it, but now I have to be nice to my =
muscles.
I can't imagine a silent wheel.
Question: Does anyone know the title of the book that is now out of =
print, impossible to find... something like Craftpersons guide to =
toolmaking and then the second part of the title is something like An =
instructional guide... the author is a man, maybe Allen ? and his wife.
Any bites?

....and noise.
I have an old stereo that belonged to one of my children who has
since graduated to state-of-the-art equipment. It's hooked up near my
electric (Brent) wheel and is tuned to WQXR or sometimes, when they
are not talking, to WSHU (NPR), both local classical music stations.
It works fine.
When the radio is on I can't tell whether my wheel is making
noise--the music drowns it out.
