Surfing with Helen Bates - Scandinavian, German, and British sites -
January 16, 2005

Hello all,

I'm taking a short break from doing the Clayart subscribers' sites, to
send a few more "Surfing" sites:

Designed in Finland
Click "Ceramics" then "Art Ceramic"

Retro site from Japan
http://organ.main.jp/index.html
(With Scandinavian ceramics) For translation:
<
http://babel.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=ja_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fhttp://organ.main.jp/index.html
>
or Tiny URL of above translation url:
(The translation site works well except for page 6 of the
Ceramics/Glass subdirectory.)

Christine Kluge Kaberkorn (Berlin, Germany)
Some way out vases here. The site is in German. For some reasons the
translation programs are able to translate the web site in its
entirety. Howevery, you can copy and paste the text into the text
translation space at < http://babel.altavista.com/tr >. (Not the
graphically rendered text, of course)

Dierk and Yoshie Stuckenschmidts (Rostingen, Germany)
Babelfish translation:
http://babel.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=de_en&trurl=http://www.rostinger-hof.de/
These potters work in the Japanese style, in separate studios. Click
on the "Dierks Topferei" button for Dierk's work and the "Yoshies
Topferei" button for Yoshie's work.

Studio Design 4 (Germany)
The site has a collection of hand thrown designer ware that is not for
sale, and another section of work that is for sale. Very little text.
Just point and click. There are a couple of paragraphs of English
below the German text on the "Contact" page. The ceramics are by
German and British potters.

Paulus Florizoone (Diksmuide, Belgium)
Babelfish translation of original Belgian (Dutch) language:
http://babel.altavista.com/babelfish/trurl_pagecontent?lp=nl_en&trurl=http%3a%2f%2fhome.scarlet.be%2f%7epf323347%2findex.htm
Tiny URL of above translation:
http://tinyurl.com/3sz9f
Florizoone makes reproduction ancient pottery, and conserves or
restores old pottery as well. Lots to see on this site.

Museum of London
There are 20,000 pieces in MOL ceramics collection! (To view a
substantial part of the collection, click "Ceramics and Glass online
catalogue" under "Web highlights.")

Enjoy,

Helen
