Somehow I think that question has come up before, getting the same =
answer. First unless you live right on top of a used one, in which =
case you would know, the shipping will be very costly. A standing =
treadle wheel is a sturdy table with a rim--maybe 4 inches high--and a =
Pitman shaft up the middle. It is much like a Leach wheel,
in principle, except for the box and the position of the potter. There =
is a projection from the side of the box, perpendicular to the motion =
of the treadle, so that the potter can lean the relevant hip against it. =

I looked on the Internet, and apparently there is a Cranbrook Standing =
or Treadle wheel--I did not pursue it further. But I expect if one =
wrote to Cranbrook?????????????????

I dont know where you can get one but I have made one and have worked with
four or five over the years, including one in an aluminum casing with three
pipe legs and no leaning bourd. The last one was manufactured, but I can
not tell you who made it. It was too awkward to use anyway. If you want
more information just e-mail me and I will try to come up with some plans,
or tell me what you are willing to pay and I will tell you if I can make
one for that.
