Yahhh....
Ideally, the bowls from which our Cats and Dogs or Birds may
eat and
drink, should be washed out, no more and no less than those
from whcich we eat and drink, and, for all the same reasons.
And or, the Bowls should be given a nice Bleach
cleaning, once a week or so...ro really disinfect them.
I know many people almost never really wash their 'pets'
bowls, but just add to them or kind of casually sluice them
out every few months or to under the sink tap or outside
hose-bib...
Not so good...
Just-a-thought...on that matter...

Hmmm, I guess my cats are lucky. They have a fresh clean food dish
every day and if they are getting food that was in the fridge, I nuke
it in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it up for them. Spoiled?
Nahh. Some cats' stomachs are sensitive to cold food straight from the
fridge.
Okay, I admit, I do spoil them a bit! One of the little bowl shapes I
make are cat food dishes. Small and wide so their whiskers don't hit
the sides while they eat. I don't know if they like them better that
way, but if I was a cat I think I would prefer it if my whiskers didn't
hit the sides of my food bowl.
I've been doing the food dish moat thing for years since my house must
have been built on top of an ancient ant hill or citadel. One time I
came home to find that the ants had gotten into the food bowl by using
the bodies of their drowned companions as a bridge across the water.
Ants are very clever. And they love cat food!

Of course they prefer that, Laurie! Wouldn't you
object to being smacked around the head each time
you tried to put something in your mouth to eat?
That must be what cats and dogs put up with most
of the time...
