Hello, Jonathan, Lela, and folks,
Perhaps you've seen someone say something like RTFM in response to a
support question.
In this case, RTFM means "Read The Fine Message" that Mel sent us all
many times.
You know the long, very long, email mel sends out every once in a
while that nobody seems to read? It usually has a subject of
"Important - read this" or something eye-catching.
Well... in that email is the following:
>>Some members of clayart have wanted to get a copy of their own posts.
>>There is a listserv option that will send you your a copy of your own
>>posts. You may specify a getting a copy of your own posts by sending the
>>following message to listserv@lsv.ceramics.org :
>>SET CLAYART REPRO
>>Remember: write this command, and only this command, in the BODY of the
>>message.
>>
>>If you decide you don't like the results of this change, sending
>>SET CLAYART NOREPRO
>>to listserv@lsv.ceramics.org will set it back.
>>Remember: write this command, and only this command, in the BODY of the
>>message
I'm not sure whether the listserv's parameters have been changed, but
I think about six months ago, the behavior was changed from repro to
nonrepro as a default.
Sending the command as above will fix it in any event.
Regards,
Maurice

This is a strange one - I send out posts to Clayart, I receive an email
stating
>Your message dated Tue, 25 Jan 2005 09:45:42 -0500 with subject "Re: ikea
>blues/not cobalt" has been successfully distributed to the CLAYART list
>(1938 recipients).
>
I have received a few replies off list so I know the emails are there,
but they don't show up ANYWHERE - not in my in box, not in my Clayart
folder, not in my junk or trash folder. I don't seem to be getting my
emails that I send out to the list, although it appears that I'm getting
everyone else's. I've checked my preferences and haven't changed
anything, so I don't know if there's something I'm not catching or what.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Jonathan in DC
just trying to stay in the conversation!

It happened to me as well. All my settings were in order and Mel told me
they were from his end as well. In an attempt at solution I unsubscribed for
a day. That didn`t help, but 3 weeks later tried it again, usubscribed, went
out of town for 3 days and it has worked since. So, perhaps, try going out
of town. :>) Good luck, Lela

Hello Maurice,
That`s what made it so annoying.. I did that quite a few times. It just
changed from the regular on it`s own and couldn`t be corrected. A glitch
somewhere, I guess.
It`s been fine for me since.
Best wishes from Lela

Hi Jonathan,
By default, Listserv does not send you a copy of your own postings. =20
You can see that you message was posted though:

If you do want to receive a copy of your own messages, send a message to
the Clayart Listserv SERVER address: listserv@lsv.ceramics.org
in the body of the messsage type:
set clayart repro
if you also include the command:
info refcard
you will receive a detailed explanation of the other Listserv options
you can set for your subscrition to the Clayart Listserv.
Hope this helps...
Matt
