Do you know of any places in Northern California) that will fire
original works? I'm planning to move to northern CA (Mendocono, Fort
Bragg, or Crescent City) and I want to know if there are any studios
where I could rent space to work on my projects. I don't sell
commercially or anything. I just want a place to work on my peices.

Please email me at Meinelkgrove@aol.com

Thank you,

Therese

Just out of curiosity how is it that you decided on Mendocino, Fort Bragg,
or Crescent City but left out all of Humboldt Bay, including the communities
of Eureka, Arcata, Blue Lake, Fortuna, McKinleyville, Ferndale, and a
zillion small towns in the vicininty? I lived in Humboldt for 17 years, and
it is a fine place to live. There's lots of clay going on there.

My brother and sister-in-law were considering retiring to Mendocino, but
decided that it is just too far from too much. They chose Port Townsend,
Washington.

I don't know if Mendocino Art Center has an open-studio program where you
pay a fee and use the facilities. It would be to their advantage to do so,
when there aren't any workshops going. In Arcata, the Fire Arts Center
offers such services. In Crescent City, my friend Mike Selfridge teaches at
the community college, and they have good facilities for such things. I'm
sure there are other similar opportunities.
Good luck -
