As Mum would say " I was up at the crack of 9 this morning. 5 hour drive
home from Lansing put us home in time to savour 2 fingers of Makers Mark and
a sound sleep. The Lansing folks were fabulous and we stayed with a working
crafts partnerhip which was a very snug fit. Deer, rabbits, and the other
hunted species of Michigan -the morning doves were at the kitchen window for
our morning coffee.
Mum gave me some new American expressions to describe my cups. I figured out
what a butt crack was, but I always thought a wedgie was a type of french
fry. And here in Canada we wear a hat on our head but in Michigan "hat" is
the opposite of cold.
If I had a facility like theirs close by I'd close my studio. A co-operative
owned guild with soda, low fired salt, 2 gas reductions kiln, raku and every
piece of potters equipment known as well as a beautiful huge building-
co-operatively owned!!!!
Back to work- I have a ton of clay to move this month and I don't mean just
move it! I have to turn it into something.
Cheers,
Tony
P.S Nice to see the Clayarters and their t-shirts.
