banish those post-workshop blues

Hi Kelly

have to glaze somehow (I don't spray, too big > to dip... no clue.)

I have a clue or two... I've made several fat-belly coil pots that were too
big to dip, so I poured and dribbled. If you put two sticks across a large
bucket, prop the pot on that (upside down, depending on the shape), and then
pour the glaze over it. If possible, keep walking around, if not, then put the
whole thing on a banding wheel, and turn it. Very Very Carefully, I should
add, from personal bad experience, don't want to talk about it!

I have dribbled glazes over other glazes and it can work quite well, though
might be worth trying a smaller piece first just to see what is likely to
happen, as a sort of monstrosity-prevention exercise.

And if you still want to dip, another thing that works is a baby-bath,
brilliant for large pieces.

I have a few of the dribbly pots around the house, so if you like I can
email you a photo to give you an idea.

Cheers,

Jenny

by the way - what is a Roman bowl? one of those nice chunky mixing bowls, in
which case I can't figure out why there are corners?
