Hello Claybuds,
I am passing along a question by a fellow Canadian, Randall Clifford,
who is trying to locate a vendor of stannous chloride and other
chemicals at reasonable prices, (for fuming). A company was found in
Calgary (Petrocraft), that can get many varieties, all of which are
very expensive. Can anybody out there help???

Hi Liz. There is a business called LabX (www.labx.com) which
has listings from medical/chemical/research companies that want
to sell used lab equipment and old chemicals. If Randall goes
to their home page he will find, on the left hand side, a list
of clickable areas. A click on 'all categories' at the top
will bring up an alphabetical listing, and a click on 'chemicals'
will give him a list of all chemicals for sale.

He may have a little better success by listing what he needs
and letting people come to him... to do that, he just scrolls
down the same left hand side list, and at or near the bottom
he can click on 'wanted' and place a free ad. There may be
other businesses like labx too... maybe a google search would
turn up more. The bargains, if he's lucky, are generally
pretty good..... Gary Holt

Hey Liz:
You can get stannous chloride at "Standard Ceramic Supply" The
web site is standardceramic.com. They sell it for $16.50 a pound in the
catalog we have. Our catalog is from 2001 but the price should not be much
different.
Please let us know how you make out because we are interested in fuming
also.
Thank you & Good luck:
