Hello All! I'm new to the list and have a question regarding =
controllers. I currently have a used electric kiln (Cress B-23-H with =
kiln sitter- old but in good shape) and had borrowed a friend's =
controller (Sentry, I believe) for awhile and loved it. Now I'm =
wondering if it's worthwhile to purchase a new/used controller or simply =
look at the newer kilns that come with controllers. Can anyone help =
and/or suggest what type of controller to purchase? (3-key vs. 8-key?) =
Also, would the kiln sitter need to be altered and how much would I =
expect to pay for a controller that would work with my Cress? AND, =
lastly, does anyone out there have a used controller they'd like to =
sell?

Thanks so much!!!

Hi Kim,
I own a Cress B 23 HT and like it a lot but it doesn't compare to the newer
computer controlled kilns. If you have the funds get a new kiln with a
controller. There are many controllers on the market. The two most popular
for electric kilns are the Orton and the Bartlett controllers. The Bartlett
controller is found on Cress, L&L, and Skutt kilns. Check out their
controllers at http://www.bartinst.com The Orton controller is used on
Paragon kilns. Orton's web site is http://www.ortonceramic.com Happy
Shopping.
