Yes, well said! and quite so...and...

Sadly, no one 'waxes' Floors anymore ( less so, waxes their
floral
pattern
Linoleum 'runners' and 'throws'...)

It is merely now ( like with so many other things,) a sort
of
figurative use of a term...

Yes...!

In fact, when wearing my 'Doctor Dentons' (which I think I
outgrew when I was about 4 if not sooner, ) the potential of
the
'slide' was enhanced a good deal.

I highly recommend them...

Yes...

Better yet, placeing tight, hand-knit, pearl-barley-texture
Woolen
Stockings on the legs
of obligeing Dogs or Cats...works even better for the
paw-pads to slide even more nicely...

Better even yet? slipping the legs of one's extra pairs of
Dr. Denton's on to them, and letting them (and or one's self
at the same time ) get a r-e-a-l-l-y good running start...

"C'mon boy! C'mon!" and...Zoooooom! Kay-rash...!

...do they still make Dr. Dentons?

Nasty...eeeeesh...fooey...blech...oye...peeawk...ugh...

Golly Wayne, makes me want to wax my Floors here now...

Hmmmm...like I did not already have enough to do!

Although some of that Aerosol Silicone 'dry-lube' ain't half
bad either for a nice quick-'n'-easy slick floor...or as a
finishing touch
after one's routine Shovel, Broom and Wet-Mop of
course...brings out the color
nicely, too...

Especially handy if in-laws or 'cityinspectors',
bounty-hunters, process-servers or other annoying personages
are comeing over or something...

One would do well to allways keep a few Cans handy there
under the sink or something.

You know, these little Housekeeping tips can mean so
much...and there is just no substitue for good practical
know
how in Modern Home-Making.

I wonder if that one was in 'Heloise'?

Hmmm...

Anyway...
