Please join us for two wonderful workshops coming in March and April to the
Valley Art Center in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. The first one, Creative Writing
Workshop with Scott Lax is on Saturday, March 12. The second one is Judith
Carducci's Pastel Workshop to be held on April 9 and 10.
Scott Lax, award-winning novelist and feature film producer, as well as
playwright, screenwriter, magazine writer and artist in residence at
schools, is foremost a creative writer. With his workshop, students, both
adults and teens, will be lead on a journey into their own creative
writing voices and coached to express themselves with their writing.
Create believable characters, tap into your writing voice, organize your
thoughts in writing, and learn the techniques of getting published. Lax is
an excellent teacher with intense creative energy and focus. The workshop
will be held at the Valley Art Center on Saturday, March 12, 10 am - 3 pm
($70).
Judith Carducci is back by popular demand. A signature member of the Pastel
Society and the International Association of Pastel Societies, Judith
paints portraits, still lifes and landscapes in pastel. The workshop will
cover technical applications of the medium, color, and aesthetic/artistic
considerations, using demonstration and practice sessions. Pastel is pure
pigment. Unlike oil, watercolor or acrylic, its rich colors won't fade,
yellow, crack or darken with time. This is a great oppoertunity to study
with this nationally acclaimed pastel artist from Hudson. The workshop,
also held at the Valley Art Center, is Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and
10, 9 am - 4 pm ($175).
