Well, somewhat rare ... I remember a product for sale
in the 'new' Europe about 10 yrs. ago, called "Black
Death Vodka." It was pepper flavored, 80 proof, and
came in an aluminum can -- about a 12 oz. serving.
The logo was a skeleton of some kind. It was pretty
foul, IIRC.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I, also, do not think people name
their products in order to play off tragedies, etc. There probably are some
incidents of this, but I think them rare. The American (U.S.A.) public is in tune
with power, strength, output/throughput, etc. Products are named to express
that which the public seeks, not to play off human tragedies.
