Hi All,

This is the porcelain I most often use and the results here are very
interesting, at least to me. The methods used were the same as I used for Pier
porcelain. I'll discuss method in another post.

Shrinkage :

Again 3 sticks with 100mm lines on each.

Bone dry the avg length : 93.75 mm
Bisqued the avg length : 93.5 mm
cone 10 oxidation avg. length : 87.83 mm

That's 12.16 % shrinkage at cone 10.

Absorption :

Test piece Absorption
A 2.27%
B 2.21%
C 2.13%

The average absorption being 2.21%. Note, numerical discrepancies are due to
rounding errors.

The absorption value here suggests that we could go higher with this
porcelain. It was a good cone 10 with tip almost touching and 11 starting to
bend. I have seen this body fired to cone 12 and a half. At those sorts of
temps it does go translucent. If you're lucky it will pick up killer ash and
flame effects too.

Thanx
D
