Hi, everyone,

Thanks for all the great suggestions, on and off-line. I'm going
to put a fair number of them into practice. Wish I could write to
each of you in person but they're SUPPOSED to come put in the
gas, electricity and water in the new studio today. Of course,
the original contract said the studio would be finished yesterday...

Something else cool: when they were digging up the foundation,
they dug up a ton of what's supposed to be bentonite. It's a
terrific clay! Even straight from the ground, it hand-builds
wonderfully; I'm slaking some now to see what I can get from it.
Fires happily to cone 6, haven't taken it any higher.

In one spot, above the layer of bentonite was a layer of red
clay that was the most WONDERFUL red clay I've ever had. Curiously
it was only in one very localized spot. Is that usual, does anyone
know? I'd love to find some more but I don't know how to go about
looking for it.

Hang in there,

Fa
