Mason stain #6433 is a praseodymium yellow. It is quite bright, but
you'll need to experiment with how much is needed in your particular glaze
to get the amount of color you want. Try tests ranging from 7% to 13% and
see what happens. I use it only to tweak color a bit.

Aishwarya Rai and Dylan McDermott) and Berkeley (where they aren't)

Does anyone know where I might get Praseodymium Oxide? I'm having a =
difficult time locating.

Or if anyone has a reliable bright yellow ^6 glaze recipe they might be =
willing to share please feel free. I've searched through the Archives =
but I'm looking for a bright yellow and what I'm seeing are pale or soft =
yellow's.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Try using Mason stains in a few different base glazes.
I have used a bright ^6 glaze before but unfortunately,
do not have the recipe but I'm pretty sure yellow mason stain
was used.

Hi Peggy: Why don't you post it for the rest of us. I'm sure many of us
(including me) would be most appreciative....Mildred Herot

Hello,

I have a great bright yellow glaze recipe (cone 6) that someone was kind enough to send me last year. I will look for it and send you a copy. It does not call for any mason stains, the oxides are only titanium and rutile. Will try and send it to you directly early next week.

Hi
Don't know who sent the original request for the bright yellow.
I found the receipe I have used. It is called Butterscotch.

Butterscotch ^6 ox.---Yellow matt
Frit 3134 25
Dolomite 12
Lithium carb 2
feldspar(Custer) 10
ball clay(Kentuck-OM4 26
silica-flint 25

Add--Titanium Dioxide 9
Rutile 4

Don't know whose recipe so I can't give credit
When applied thin it is brighter than thick. It is very nice
thick, but it is lighter and buttery.
Good luck with it.
Gretchen in New York
P.S. I also have a receipe -same one -without Lithium
If you want that give a holler!!!!!!!!!!
