this is a smartaleck answer.
don't put clear glaze on brown clay.
put clear glaze on white clay. (slip under works)
now, a serious answer.
clay body always affects the color of a glaze.
iron in a body will come through a clear glaze
and make it `whatever`. cloudy.
there is no glaze that will change that.
so, change the clay. (well, someone may have a magic
answer, this is clayart as you know.)
clay body color and quality is always the setting for
great glaze.
ignore that, and you have trouble.
it was fun reading the post about jon singer talking
about iron oxide. all the variables.
many grades, many colors, may styles. (can't you see jon
talking, pencils, flashlights, temp gauges in his pockets..hair
flying. he is a delight..and a dear friend.)
that is what i had been given when the iron saga began.
i now know. lots of differences in iron.
