Dannon's post brings back a thought:

One of the most memorable (for me) moments of NCECA happened in the
lobby of the Days Inn on Saturday night. I finally got a chance to
meet the brilliant Jon Singer, and have a conversation with him.

I learned more about RIO from listening to him and examining the pot
he pulled from his pocket (and what a red that was, Jon!) in 20
minutes than I had learned in all the reading I've done for the past
four years. I had NO CLUE that there were differing grades and
percentages of RIO, all sold generically as "RIO" by different
suppliers. =20

Once again, ask questions, get the answers from your suppliers (they
owe you that much, you're paying them for it) and test, test, test.

Does "rio" stand for Red Iron Oxide? If so can someone point me to
some e-articles on de different kinds of Iron Oxides and their uses?
I've looked around but for the most part everything I've found that
the difference is just the iron concentration in them...

thanks
