Steve -
Great Picture! One question, though; with the gaps showing will the kiln
not cool too fast?
I've got a 27 cu,ft Bourry box downdraft and I always try to get every
little chink stuffed before I walk away for the night.
Cheers from the Great Northwest Rainforest.

I just finished a cone 10R firing this evening and the cooling kiln looked nice in the moonlight so
I've posted a photo of it:

A quiet, calm evening here on the Bruce Peninsula, where the ice is starting to melt on Georgian
Bay.

I agree, I want to say thanks again. It's very rare that I spend so
long browsing someones site. I completely forgot about my hunger
during that hour.
In addition to the ceramics, visit Steves photography and henge
pages. I feel inspired to throw a camera tomorrow! Go see what I
mean.
Best regards,
Mark.

Les,
Thanks for your note. My kiln takes at least 36 hours to cool down, even in the winter when the
outside temps are well below freezing. Even then, the pieces are too hot to touch when I first start
to unbrick the door.
I have a page about my kiln on my website that includes a simple animation of it firing:

Les,
Thanks for your note. My kiln takes at least 36 hours to cool down, even in the
winter when the
outside temps are well below freezing. Even then, the pieces are too hot to
touch when I first start
to unbrick the door.
