Hi Althea,

Check out the Scottish Potters Association website --
www.scottishpotters.org. there's info on some of the
members and some images of their work. You can also
download a map of the country that shows roughly where
all the members are located.

Hope you enjoy your trip! Scratch that, you'll TOTALLY
enjoy your trip! May in Scotland is BEE-YOU-TI-FULL!
Just keep an open mind, don't call anyone English and
bring a raincoat (you may not need it, but probably
will!!).

Ach aye the noo!!

Nicole,

Thanks for the info, I will definitely check it out. I was also directed by another clayarter to look at www.ccoi.ie (Crafts Council of Ireland), so now I feel I can begin to plan an itinerary around seeing specific potters/potteries in the two countries. And maybe when I return I will know what 'ach aye the noo' means.

I promise not to label anyone 'English' (how do the Scottish feel about Americans?) and my raincoat will be first on my list of items to be packed, the camera second and the hiking boots third.

Nicole. Thank you so much for this website I am delighted and have signed
on and hoping to have contact with one or two potters from my homeland.
Born in Scotland I regret the loss of my Scottishness with years of being
away.
Revel in the accent and am looking forward to seeing it all via the net.
Turn 80 this year but still potting and take heart from Bonnie Staffel's
continued interest in clay and all that that involves. Again many thanks
Regards and Best wishes Maggie
