Saw your interesting site discussing these tough little trees.

Your readers might be interested in knowing that in pioneer days, at
least in TX , probably other places too, land surveyors frequently would
use a bois d'arc tree as a corner market/monument, as they figured the
tree was so tough it was likely to be there a LONG time.
