Guest artists Richard Notkin, Walter McConnell, Nan Smith and Sue Whitmore
will work with students on technique, idea development, critique, and
professional example in a two-week workshop format course entitled "Clay as
a Medium for Sculpture.
The course will be held on the CSU Fresno Campus, July 10-23. It is offered
through CSU Summer Arts and can be taken for undergraduate or graduate
credit. This course will focus on the use of clay to produce work of a
sculptural nature. The workshop will present several professional hands-on
approaches to clay, both technical and conceptual, and will prove beneficial
to visual artists from all studio backgrounds regardless of medium, concept,
or form. Topics of concentration include various approaches to mold making
and casting, hand building construction, and clay's role as a medium for
installation-based work.
Enrollment fees:
California Resident, Undergraduate-1-6 units $698
California Resident, Graduate-1-6 units $839
Non-California Resident Undergraduate or graduate 3 units $1000, 6 units $1,300
